Privacy Policy

1      INTRODUCTION

In the course of Provecta’s business, there may be circumstances where Provecta collects personal information.  This Policy has been developed to ensure that such information is handled in compliance with the Privacy Act 1988. The Privacy Act incorporates the Australian Privacy Principles, and personal information held by Provecta will be treated in accordance with those Principles.

Provecta respects the privacy rights of all individuals and is committed to collection, use and disclosure ofpersonal information in an ethical and appropriate manner.

This Policy sets out the broad controls which Provecta has adopted to govern the way it collects and usespersonal information, the circumstances in which it might disclose personal information to third parties, how persons can access their personal information held by Provecta and what they can do if they are unhappy with Provecta’s treatment of their personal information.

We may make changes to this Policy from time to time without notice, via the uploading of an updated version of the Privacy Policy to the Provecta website (www.provecta.com.au).

2      Who Is Provecta

In this Policy, “Provecta” refers to Provecta Process Automation Pty Ltd (ACN 101 916 301) and its related businesses (e.g. Provecta Energy Solutions).

3      Who Does This Policy Apply To?

This Policy applies to any individuals in respect of whom Provecta currently holds, or may in the future collect, personal information.

4      What Information Does This Policy Apply To?

This Policy applies to personal information. When we refer to personal information we mean information or an opinion about you, from which you are, or may reasonably be identified.  This information may include (but is not limited to) your;

  • Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Phone and contact details
  • Drivers licence details
  • Insurance details
  • Employment history
  • Marital status

Although not common practice, from time to time Provecta may collect sensitive information.  Sensitive information is a subset of personal information on an individual and may include for example information on you such as your;

  • Health
  • Racial or ethnic origin
  • Membership of professional association
  • Biometric information
  • Religious beliefs

We will only collect sensitive information about you with your consent.

5      What information is not personal information?

Information where Provecta has removed any reference to a person, so that the person cannot be reasonably identified from the information, is not considered personal information.

Provecta may use this information for its own purposes and commercial gain.

6      How and when does Provecta collect personal information?

Provecta collects personal information in a variety of ways in the course of conducting its businesses, including:
providing goods and services and related information to customers, and administering customer accounts
engaging with suppliers, contractors and other personnel responding to questions regarding our products and our business

  • interacting with people via our websites
  • security video surveillance at Provecta sites
  • electronic surveillance of Provecta’s computer systems
  • applications for employment with us

The kinds of personal information collected and held by Provecta include (depending on the circumstances) names, addresses and other contact details, details about a person’s work experience and other qualifications, date of birth, driver’s licence details, bank account details, photographs and video footage.

Where reasonable and practicable, Provecta will collect personal information directly from you and inform you that this is being done.

However in some circumstances, it may be necessary for Provecta to collect personal information through third party service providers or agents (e.g. future employee information received from HR recruitment firms), from a source of publicly available information (e.g. a telephone book or website) or from an employer (e.g. where a client or sub-contractor provides personal information about its staff).

Personal information collected by Provecta is held in a variety of formats, including hard copy format and on Provecta’s computer systems.

If Provecta receives personal information that Provecta has not requested (unsolicited information) and Provecta determines that Provecta could not have collected that information under the Australian Privacy Principles if Provecta had requested it, then Provecta will destroy or de-identify the information if it is lawful and reasonable to do so.

7      Why Does Provecta Collect personal information?

Provecta collects, uses, or discloses personal information for the purpose that it was provided in the conduct of its business activities.  These activities include legal or regulatory compliance activities and good business practice.  This may include using your personal information for the following purposes;

  • to verify your identity
  • to assess, process and manager your application for employment
  • promotion of Provecta’s services
  • performance of professional services and duties

8      Disclosure of personal information

Provecta respects the personal information you have provided us and we will take all reasonable steps to maintain its confidentiality.

Personal information will only be disclosed to third parties where this disclosure is necessary and such disclosure is the primary purpose of collecting the information, or a related secondary purpose if the disclosure could be reasonably expected.

9      Security of personal information

Provecta will take all reasonable steps to ensure that all personal information held by Provecta is secure from any unauthorised access or disclosure. Whilst Provecta takes all reasonable steps to secure personal information, unauthorised access remains a possibility and Provecta will not take responsibility for anyone outside of Provecta’s control breaching its security measures.

Provecta will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify personal information if it is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was provided.

Our website may contain links to the websites of third party providers of goods and services (Third Party websites). Provecta is not responsible for those Third Party websites and before disclosing your personal information on any Third Party website, we suggest you examine the terms and conditions of their use.

10   Accessing your personal information

If you wish to view, correct, update or remove any personal information held by Provecta, or have any questions, concerns or complaints regarding privacy or Provecta’s management of personal information, please contact info@provecta.com.au or the relevant office address or telephone number listed at www.provecta.com.au.  Provecta will review or process the request or matter and provide a response as soon as practicable.
